In February 2022, the Gütegemeinschaft Anwerbung und Vermittlung von Pflegekräften aus dem Ausland e.V. (Quality Association for the Recruitment and Placement of Care Workers from Abroad) awarded the first RAL quality mark “Fair Recruitment Healthcare Germany”. CWC Recruitment is one of the first companies to be awarded and certified for its ethical, fair and transparent recruitment processes.
The recruitment of international healthcare workers – e.g. from the Philippines – is one of several HR marketing activities that can be used to counter the shortage of skilled workers and personnel in the care sector in Germany. The German Federal Ministry of Health (BGM) commissioned the development of the “Fair Recruitment Healthcare Germany” seal of approval. It recognizes recruitment agencies that conduct the recruitment process ethically, fairly and transparently. In February 2022, the awards were presented for the first time to 17 audited recipients.
“This seal is a milestone in the immigration of skilled workers. It lets caregivers from abroad know that their prospective employer or placement agency ensures a fair and transparent recruitment process. Employers also commit to supporting the foreign nursing professionals in their integration and to paying them like their colleagues. This commitment creates trust. Thus, the seal also contributes to a modern immigration and integration policy. That is why the legislator introduced this seal of quality,” says Prof. Edgar Franke, Parliamentary State Secretary in the Federal Ministry of Health.
The RAL seal of quality “Fair Recruitment Healthcare Germany” distinguishes an ethical, fair and transparent recruitment and integration process.
The quality seal and the test criteria were developed on behalf of the BMG by the German Competence Center for International Healthcare and Nursing Professionals (DKF) at the KDA and presented in fall 2021. The RAL Quality Association is entrusted with the implementation of the test procedure, the training and commissioning of independent examiners, and the awarding of the quality seal.
The voluntary quality seal was adopted as part of the law to ensure the quality of recruiting nursing staff from abroad in order to facilitate the processes of international nursing staff recruitment, to make them more reliable and transparent – and above all to set an ethically acceptable standard in recruitment. The quality seal describes corresponding specifications in four quality areas with almost 20 criteria and 60 indicators. CWC Recruitment also participated in various processes and shared its decades of experience in recruiting and integrating international caregivers.
